I've had it a few times now, where I have to stop myself from interjecting a Dutch word in the middle of my sentence, but sometimes the Dutch word is just the perfect fit for the moment. This is my list of words that I wish we could use in English to describe those moments are things just a little better. Hey everyone, I was reflecting on some of the things that I've picked up on since living in The Netherlands. When I first came back a lot of people had noticed that I was a little different and I think these reasons are some of the biggest changes to me and how I live my life. These have all been hugely positive changes and I wanted to share them with you.     I've been missing the Netherlands a lot lately and was thinking about all the little and strange things that make The Netherlands, well The Netherlands. These are the weirdest things about the Netherlands some you may have heard before and some might be new or some might not even be that weird for you.   I've been speaking Dutch for 2 years now and low and behold I still constantly make mistakes. I certainly understand a lot and still consider myself fluent in Dutch but, mistakes fly out of my mouth left, right and center.  The problem is also that I'm fluent enough that anyone I'm speaking with lets these little mistakes fly without pulling me up. Cue learnt bad habits.  It's not that I blame my conversation partners but, if the people I'm speaking with were as strict on me as I am on myself than maybe I wouldn't have so many loose...
